Visual Artist

As a developing artist, I am combining my educational experience with personal experience to create a series of acrylic and oil paintings based on the landscapes of my home province, British Columbia.

My fine arts education include: self-learning by personal trials and experiences; learning from observing established artists; and attending Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, successfully completing Certificate in Fine Arts Techniques. I have recently trained in Paris, France, with Timothy Stotz and N. Michelle Tully of Studio Escalier for a month in December 2010.

I am inspired by all kinds of art, including paintings and sculptures by traditional and contemporary artists through the ages. My favourite artists are: Caravaggio, David, Gerome, Emily Carr, Paul Cezanne, Salvatore Dalí, Eugene Delacroix, A. Y. Jackson, Rembrandt, Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptin, Emily Carr and Vincent Van Gogh to name a few. I do not aspire to be any one of them, but I aspire to learn from them, to draw from them what they have shown us in their artworks, be it colour, composition, or commentary.

I would describe my current representational artwork as a mixture of realism with emotional reaction.
